RWE Renewables Taiwan

RWE Renewables is a subsidiary of the RWE AG, focusing in onshore and offshore wind farms, solar PV plants and battery storage facilities, and we are one of the largest global players in power generation from renewable energy with a total installed generation capacity of 9.4GW. In numbers, RWE produces enough electricity to supply 52 million German households. Our technology portfolio covers offshore and onshore wind, utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar power, hydrogen, and energy storage. We have approximately 3,500 renewables experts to develop, build and operate large renewable energy assets in more than 20 countries in Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific.

As part of its extensive investment and growth strategy ‘Growing Green’, RWE plans to invest more than €50 billion gross globally by 2030 in offshore and onshore wind, solar, batteries, flexible generation and hydrogen. The company is thus expanding its powerful, green generation portfolio to 50GW by 2030 in the attractive markets of Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific Region. The company currently operates 24 offshore wind farms in five countries (as of June 2022), and is developing and constructing some of the world’s most advanced offshore wind farms.

With advantages from natural environments, well-developed energy policy, and abundant talent, RWE opened its office in Taiwan since 2018. Some of the sites are in water depths that are suitable for floating offshore wind, allowing RWE to apply its international experience being gained from three full-size floating demonstrator projects. In addition, RWE will bring the latest technology and innovations from its global portfolio to its projects in Taiwan. We are leading the way to a green energy world with eco-friendly and community caring. Our goal is to achieve the ambition of “Our energy for a sustainable life”.
